How many hands do we see on this clock?

We see two hands on this clock. The long hand is called the minute hand and the short hand is called the hour hand.

How many numbers do we see on this clock?

We see numbers from 1 to 12 on the face of a clock.

      Note:

The minute hand moves faster than the hour hand.

The minute hand takes 1 hour to complete one round on the face of the clock and the hour hand takes 12 hours to complete one round.

      Illustration 1:

On the above clock, short hand i.e. hour hand is at number 7 and long hand i.e. minute hand is at number 12.The time is read as 7 o’ clock or 7:00.

      Note:

When minute hand points to number 12 and hour hand point to any number on the face of clock, the time is read as 0’clock. Example: 7 o’clock, 4 o’ clock etc.

When the hour hand moves from number 7 to number 8, the minute hand completes one round. Now hour hand is at number 8 and the minute hand is at number 12, the time is 8 o’ clock.

      1 hour = 60 minutes
